Sakura Haven Homestay – Booking Cancellation & Cooling-Off Policy

At Sakura Haven Homestay, we're committed to providing warm hospitality and flexible booking options. We understand that travel plans can change, so we've designed this policy to be as fair and straightforward as possible.


🌸 10-Day Cooling-Off Period

You have 10 days from the date of your booking confirmation to cancel your reservation at no charge, provided your check-in date is at least 14 days away.

This cooling-off period gives you time to finalize your travel arrangements, confirm visa approvals, or simply reconsider your plans without penalty.

To request a cancellation during this period:

  • Email us at admin@sakurahaven.au with your booking reference number
  • We'll process your cancellation and issue a full refund

🗓️ Standard Cancellation Policy

Cancellations Made 14+ Days Before Arrival

No cancellation fee applies. Whether it's due to visa complications, changes in plans, or any other reason, you'll receive a full refund.

Cancellations Made Within 14 Days of Arrival

A cancellation fee equivalent to 3 nights' accommodation (approximately 34% of your total booking value for a standard stay) will apply. This fee helps cover:

  • Administrative costs
  • Preparations made by your host family
  • Lost opportunity to accommodate other guests

⚠️ Special Circumstances & Emergency Situations

We recognize that unexpected events occur. If you need to cancel due to:

  • Medical emergencies
  • Family emergencies
  • Significant travel disruptions
  • Other unforeseen circumstances

Please contact us immediately at admin @ sakurahaven.au. We review each case individually and may offer:

  • A partial refund
  • Credit toward a future stay
  • Alternative arrangements

💸 Refund Processing

Once your cancellation is approved:

  • Refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 10 business days
  • Please allow additional time for your bank or payment provider to complete the transaction
  • You'll receive a confirmation email once the refund has been initiated

If you haven't received your refund within 15 business days, please contact us and we'll investigate promptly.

  • All cancellation requests must be made in writing (email, LINE message) for record-keeping purposes
  • Phone cancellations should be followed up with written confirmation
  • The cooling-off period begins on the date you receive your booking confirmation email
  • Cancellation fees are calculated based on the nightly rate at the time of booking
